Haiti - Our country

Haiti is located in the West Indies bordering with the Atlantic Ocean in the north, the Dominican Republic in the east, the Caribbean Sea in the south, and the Windward Passage in the west. A mostly mountainous country with a tropical climate, the country was the first Caribbean state to achieve independence. However, decades of environmental degradation, violence, instability and dictatorship have left it as the poorest country in the Americas and in the Western hemisphere.

We love you HAITI

Despite Haiti's significant contributions to world history such as the writing of the first Black Republic constitution in 1801 (Haiti), the victorious Slave rebellion in 1803, the declaration of Saint Dominique's independence --currently Haiti and Dominican Republic-- in 1804, or the end of American invasion in 1934, many western scholars continue to undermine the strong will of this small Caribbean nation.

And in spite of natural disasters, man-made disasters, corruption and massive Planned destruction that my country has been victim of, and indeed is still suffering from:  I find beauty in everything of Haiti.

The whole world knows, hears and cries out for Haiti
Haiti has been an artistic inspiration to me and the world
